About me and what I do

I was born and raised in Lofoten, a place where many artists have been attracted to – For it’s beauty and it’s rawness. The close connection with nature that my upbringing offered has surely impacted my art. It is a high priority that my work cares for nature, and I always take sustainability into account throughout the processes. And it would be safe to say that the motifs often reveals an admiration for nature – especially trees and mountains.

The fascination for nebulosas and the skies has driven me into a more abstract and colourful direction as well that differs from the earthy landscape periods of my art.

The main mediums I work with is ceramics and painting – more specifically watercolors and gouache.

The feel-god art

A lot of what I have created to turn pain into beauty comes out as abstract art. It is something about grasping what we cannot see, and bringing forward what we want to see. The love, the feelings that make us feel good. The promise that we are safe, the adventurous spirit… Abstract art also allows for each viewer to see something different, to show us something from our subconscious mind.

Eco conscious art

One of my most important values is care for the environment. This is one of the reasons why I mostly create with watercolor and other less impact mediums, and when I do use acrylics I make sure that leftover and water is disposed carefully not to release microplastics to the ocean. I have been making my own paint from nature as well, which some of my paintings are based on. I also think about how I package and limit waste, using second hand, bioplastics and recycling materials. My practice is not perfect, I am learning as I go and exploring new ways to make eco art, in a continuous exploration of how I can improve to be more in harmony with nature in my art practice.

My wish is that my art pieces can give you the beautiful feelings that I get from creating them!
